Skip A Meal, Send A Smile Student Campaign

People always want to know how to get involved and how they can make a difference. "Skip a Meal, Send a Smile" is the perfect opportunity for people to make a profound impact and unite together in skipping a meal to benefit children born with facial deformities.
The average American spends about $2,000 a year on their lunch. When you break that down it is about $37 a week or about $5 a day. We are asking for a small but significant donation to benefit Operation Smile. For the month of March, we are asking you to make a $5 texting donation. To do so, text the word "SMILE" to 90999.  The donation will be added to your monthly phone bill. Or tweet "Support #OperationSmile and text "Smile" to 90999 to donate $5! #skipamealsendasmile". We also encourage everyone to unite together and "Skip a Meal" on March 29th, or sometime during the month, in honor of the children being served.  Give up your lunch, so that someone else can have the chance.

Using the power of social media- including Facebook, twitter, and instagram, we hope to create a "viral campaign". This campaign is unique because anyone with a phone can be a part of it. Join us, for the next week in sharing this unique opportunity with friends and family. On average, a person sends 114 texts per month, or 1,368 a year.

Let one of those texts have a true impact on another person!
